Students are working hard to learn more about opinion writing. Today in writers' workshop, students learned strategies for writing an introduction to an opinion essay. For example, after stating their opinion students can ask questions, state a strong fact, introduce the topic, etc. Your child practiced writing the introduction to this topic: Should rats be pets? Click here to watch the video clip I showed to them prior to writing.
During readers' workshop, we are finishing our first round of book clubs. The students have been doing an awesome job learning about conversational moves and writing notes about our reading. Our new book club round will begin as soon as all groups are finished (next week).
In math, students graphed ordered pairs and interpreted graphed data.
